It is a dreaded condition that people, regardless of age, wish would not happen to them. Dementia puts a person to a situation where he becomes helpless and vulnerable that he would need to have another person to care for him.

A brain disorder, dementia is characterized by loss of memory. People with this condition find it hard to recall things and have a hard time coping with daily routine. Aside from this, learning and communicating can weigh them down since any mental activity can become burdensome and in more serious cases – impossible.

Though dementia is commonly irreversible because destroyed brain cells can never be revived anymore, there are still some treatable cases. However the focus here is not the recovery or restoration of memory anymore, but more on the slowing or stopping the loss of more brain cells.
